The New Car Alternative

Have you ever been to a car dealership and felt like you were treated unfairly?

Have you ever been to a car dealership and felt like you were treated unfairly? If so, then you must experience the place where dreams come true, Park Auto Mall !!!

Here is a familiar story to anyone who has purchased a used car.

While vacationing in the Tampa Bay beaches in Florida, specifically Pinellas County Beaches.  I couldn’t help but notice how clean and un-weathered the cars and trucks seemed to be looking…….and even though I happened to be on vacation…….I was still in the market for a NICE good used truck.

I live back home in the dead center of Montana, over 100 miles from the closest Walmart. If I turn east when I get to the highway a mile from my house, I hit one stop sign in the first 200 miles. I drag posts, haul hay, and pull a 24 foot horse trailer. The point is, I don’t need a compact car. I need a truck. In fact, I need a 3/4 ton flatbed truck with a 5th wheel hookup on it. Montana is hard on trucks, and I am hard on them, so I
don’t need a new one. It isn’t for show, it’s for work.

Here is my experience buying one.

At the first dealership, on a street lined with dealership after dealership called US 19 I was met by a group of 11 salesmen standing outside, right at the curb. I didn’t even get clear into the lot before they were at both sides of my vehicle, trying to be the ONE who got to sell me the SPECIAL VEHICLE OF THE DAY. I didn’t even get out of my vehicle. I just rolled the window down a bit and said I was only turning around.

At the second dealership, there were multiple sales people on the lot, but I was greeted by only one. I told him what I wanted, and he promptly took me on a long walk to the back of the lot, where he stopped at a brand new $50,000 truck. When I repeated what I wanted, “since you obviously misunderstood,” he told me that they didn’t have one of those, but he could get me a really good deal on this one. I said thanks anyway, and returned to my rental car, with him finally trying to get my name so he could call me when he got one. I declined.

I felt like I had not been heard…… and decided I should start to make my way back towards the hotel I was staying at, out at the beach on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.  Hence, I headed west on a road called Park Boulevard.

This is what brought me to the third dealership, I was welcomed to the dealership by a young lady who introduced herself, and asked my name. She asked me if I had ever purchased a certified used vehicle from them before and was I looking for anything in particular, or just generally looking. I told her what I wanted. She thought for a few seconds, and then said something seemed kind of odd…..She asked me if I would like a cup of coffee or maybe a bottle of water. I felt like a cup of coffee was in order so I said sure, she said come with me, and I followed.  She said they might not have anything like that at the time, but if I had a minute she would speak to a friend of hers who dealt in trucks like that.

I went inside with her expecting her to show me another brand new truck. To my surprise, she went in an office and called someone on the phone and explained what I was looking for. She paused for a second, and then asked, “What year is it?” She continued to ask pertinent questions until she ended with the sentence, “I don’t know if it will work for my client, but if it does, he’s in your office.” Long story short, it was what I was looking for. I went out back to see it, and ended up buying it.

So, what’s the point? Too many people on the Internet and in sales treat me like the first two used car salesmen.

I get pitched on products and/or companies that don’t even remotely fit what I am doing, by people who haven’t taken the time to GET TO KNOW me.

When I respond that I’m not interested, I get another persistant person talking to me…… as if  I obviously don’t get it, because if I did, I would BUY RIGHT NOW.

I leave, and don’t listen to any more from them.

And here’s my question. Which of these categories do you fit into?

Do you get to know them……… or just keep talking?

WOW ...........Under $10k in............. 2010

Under $10k in 2010

In today’s trying economics time…….. ParkAutoMall.com has done it again !!!!

With the average price of a late model Florida used car being closer to twenty thousand dollars at just about every dealership in town.

An amazing accomplishment at Park Auto Mall has taken place.

Park Auto Mall is the largest Independent, New Car Alternative in the Southeast United States, where their tag line is “If you can’t tell the difference……..Then why pay the difference?”

Where some prices have been slashed to be sold for under $10,000 for the calander year of 2010.  Hence, under 10 in 2010

“A large percentage of the shoppers online that I correspond with are looking for vehicles that are less than $10,000.  We have dedicated a large portion of our inventory for cars that can be sold for under ten thousand. ……Besides…….. being priced under ten thousand produces a payment that surely fits most everyone’s budget.” Say’s

Internet Director, Dave Ingold for Park Auto Mall.

Some of our under ten in twenty ten are but not limited to:

2009 Kia Spectra EX

2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser LX

2008 Chevrolet Aveo5 LS

2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible

And many more…………

Don’t buy just the Car……….Just buy the car………. for the Navigation

Don’t buy just the Car……….Just buy the car………. for the Navigation

So you want an import for under Ten in 2010…… Lemme guess…… a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic or maybe that Consumer Reports, Best Buy for reliability The Mazda 3……and you want to spend under ten thousand……Our Consumer Reports say’s go to Park Auto Mall and get you one of the best buys on the Planet……a barely used and certified 2009 Suzuki SX4 sport with navigation with less than 10,000 miles for less money……PERIOD!!

When most people go see the 2009 Suzuki SX4 Sport at Park Auto Mall, they don't immediately think about the Japanese automaker's rally pedigree. They don't think about high-revving turbocharged powerplants or all-wheel-drive vehicles that are in this car's DNA. Instead, they think of a cheap econo-box, which is a shame, because there is a lot to like about this used “certified” modest little sedan.

For one, the SX4 Sport comes standard with an unconventional, but (as we learned) very useful, navigation system. It matches its competition for handling and outclasses them in power. In Sport trim, the SX4 also gets four-wheel disc brakes, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, and an aero package consisting of a more aggressive front air dam, side skirts, and rear diffuser. At Park Auto Mall You get all of this for hundreds of dollars less than the most base-model compact sedan from Toyota or Honda.

Test the tech: You call that a navigation option?
Our SX4 Sport was equipped with the SuzukiTRIP navigation package, which--when we accepted delivery of the test car--we found out meant that a
Garmin Nuvi 760 portable navigation device had been integrated into the dashboard beneath a flip-up panel. At first, we were disappointed by what looked like a half-hearted attempt at adding cabin tech, but we decided to run some errands with the system to see how well it worked and were pleasantly surprised.

From its perch at the center of the dashboard, the SuzukiTRIP GPS device, only found in the sx4’s at ParkAutoMall, serves as the brain of the cabin tech experience

Satisfied that the SX4 Sport's navigation system could get us where we were going, we looked to see what else it could do. Diving into the menus, we found that the Garmin device features Bluetooth hands-free and MP3 playback from the SD-card slot, all of which played back through the car's audio system. We were beginning to think that we'd underestimated the utility of this GPS option.

We also discovered that our GPS system was equipped with MSN Direct, which features--in addition to real-time traffic--a fuel price finder, movie times, news, weather, airport delay info, and stock price updates. In this respect, the SuzukiTRIP/Garmin system is actually more advanced than many OEM integrated systems. So from Park Auto Mall you want to head to the beach, but a quick peek at the three-day weather forecast showed that rain was expected. So, right down the street from ParkAutoMall are the Movie theatres so we used the MovieTimes feature to find a film that was playing nearby. After finding a film, we were able to call the theater with our Bluetooth-paired phone and set the destination with the touch of a button.

At the end of our test of the Suzuki SX4 Sport's GPS system, we found that not only did it feature excellent navigation with traffic data, but it also came with the bonus features of MSN Direct, Bluetooth hands-free, and MP3 playback. And at ParkAutoMall they are modular…… also meaning that the system can be removed for security or transferred to other vehicles. All in all, we'd say the SuzukiTRIP is a well-integrated solution to add a suite of cabin tech to the SX4 Sport Found at ParkAutoMall.

In the cabin
One of the first things we noticed about the SX4 upon approach was its tall, bulbous greenhouse. For a vehicle that's meant to compete directly with the Civic bunch, it was odd to see a roof that was nearly as tall as that of a
Honda CR-V. However, upon settling into the SX4 Sport's cabin, we were pleased by the great amounts of headroom and visibility the vehicle's tall stance afforded. Blind spots are minimized and rearward visibility is at a maximum. Small winglet windows in the A-pillars allow the windshield to sit toward the front of the car without creating blind spots at the front corners. This creates the pleasant illusion of sitting in a vehicle much larger than the SX4's small footprint.

For 2009, every trim level of the SX4 Sport is equipped with a standard GPS navigation in the form of an integrated and rebadged Garmin portable navigation device (PND). In the case of the SX4 Sport with the Technology Package, the device in question is a Nuvi 760. This PND features a 4.8-inch-wide touch screen and Garmin's intuitive interface and battery of features. The screen is a bit on the small side compared with other integrated systems, but it is bright and clearly visible in direct sunlight. The screen sits right in the top-center of the dashboard, perfect for easy viewing while driving, but also just outside of comfortable reaching range. You'll want to make sure the vehicle is stopped before trying to enter data.

The SuzukiTRIP features MSN Direct, which provides traffic information, fuel prices, weather, movie times, and a host of other valuable information mentioned earlier. The navigation system also features Bluetooth hands-free, which we were able to pair with our test phone rather easily with a PIN. An SD-card slot on the device's side allows the playback of MP3s and Audible.com audiobooks, and JPEG photo slide shows. There is also a dedicated menu button for locating your nearest Suzuki dealer when it's time to service the vehicle.

Park Auto Mall loves the Volkswagen Product

clock December 2, 2009 02:57 by author

Park Auto Mall’s love affair with the Volkswagen Product dates back almost a decade.

Whether you are fond of the beetle in a convertible with the top down or the sure-footed nimbleness of the Jetta.  Park Auto Mall is the Largest New Car Alternative in the Southeast United States and believes so strongly in the VW product that they try to keep one of each model in stock…..at all times!

The midsize Passat sedan and wagon duo became the ones to beat in the family car class -- if not in annual sales, then in out-and-out desirability. It wasn't just that the Passat looked different from mainstream Japanese- and domestic-brand competitors, or that its cabin was trimmed to luxury-car standards.

It was the way the VW’s drove. Its crisp steering and solid road manners gave it a level of character rarely seen in this practicality-driven vehicle class.

If the Passat had a weakness, it was its slightly too snug interior, and Volkswagen addressed this in a 2006 makeover during which the car grew 3 inches wider. Although today's VW Passat lacks the tidy geometric proportions of the late '90s car, it has as much real-world passenger room as most rivals and retains a unique personality.

Our Red 2008 Volkswagen Passat is a Komfort trim level and only has 29kmiles. However, with the Passat Komfort you'll get 17-inch wheels, a sunroof, an in-dash CD changer, satellite radio, upgraded interior lighting and double-blade front sun visors. The Lux adds automatic headlights, leather upholstery, a power front-passenger seat, driver-seat memory, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and front and rear parking sensors.

The Blue 2008 Jetta  S , has only 29k miles and comes with 16-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, cruise control, full power accessories, heated side mirrors, a 60/40-split rear seat, keyless entry and an eight-speaker CD/MP3 stereo with an auxiliary input jack.

The Silver 2008 Volkswagen Beetle S  is available with only 14k miles This S coupe models come with 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, heated outside mirrors, power windows and locks, cruise control, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, remote keyless entry, V-Tex leatherette seat trim, satellite radio and a CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input jack.

The 2006 Yellow Beetle convertible has only 32k miles…..and is NICE NICE NICE…”if you can’t tell the difference…….. then….. why pay the difference” . It comes nicely equipped withV-Tex leatherette seat trim, satellite radio and a CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input jack.

Car Dealership Finds Social Networking Pays Off

clock October 27, 2009 01:44 by author

Some local businesses have taken to social networks for marketing, and one local car dealership said the move is working well.

Dave Ingold, the marketing manager for Park Auto Mall, said he got the idea to use social networking as part of his marketing after selling a car in March.

"The next day, when I came to work, I got an e-mail from her inviting me to become her friend on Facebook," he said.

Ingold decided that social marketing tools were good for more than just socializing, and so he decided to do business using them.

  • go to media center from home page to watch storyWatch Video

  • Getting set up meant spending several hours on the computer.  Now, every time he receives a car in inventory, it automatically shows up on the Twitter feed. He also lets potential customers know about offers.

"My latest message is, 'Whether it rolls or floats or flies, I'll take it in on trade,'" Ingold said.

Ingold said the work has paid off by driving people to the dealership Web site.

"I had about 1,850 visits, 1,850 on Saturday, which resulted in 11, 12 cars sold," he said.

Ingold estimates that about 20 percent of the cars sold since March have been because of Facebook and Twitter.
